The components of the skull form during the first eight weeks of gestation, alongside the early development of the nervous system. The skull is one of the first structures to form during embryonic development. These soft tissue structures are crucial to functions like swallowing, breathing, and seeing. In addition, the skull provides the structure for the muscles, blood vessels, and connective tissue that make up the face and scalp. First, the skull surrounds and protects the brain, brainstem, and eyes. What Is the Purpose of the Skull?Īll the various skull bone parts come together to serve two major purposes. It continues to grow and change, though, throughout gestation and infancy. The skull is one of the first structures to develop in an embryo. ![]() In addition, the skull supports the face and facial movements. The skull protects the delicate organs that reside inside the head. ![]() While many people think of the skull as a single structure, it’s actually made up of 22 bones that include the bones structuring the top and back of the head, as well as the separate bones that form the framework of the face. Investor: First of all, are you classing Skull & Bones and The Crew:Motorfest as AAA games? We've still got another large game not mentioned, I make that 5 AAA games in the 2023/2024 lineup, so perhaps you're not categorising it that way.The skull, also known as the cranium, is the group of bones that forms the head. We expect they will be good contributors to the next fiscal year. So they are well on the way, but we can't say more on the games at the moment. We have regular tests on those games which are giving us information of where we are and what we have to tweak. Ubisoft: There's a lot of work that's been done by the team, and they're really dedicated to those games. How confident are you that you're going to be able to release them? And how finished are those two games now? Investor: On Avatar and Skull & Bones, could you maybe update us on where you are with those games. If not, it's likely to mean a release target of mid May to early June (Comment if you want to see the working on that). If so, I'd expect an announcement early March, for a last weekend of March Open Beta. I think it's a risky move to hold onto new content this late in the release cycle - which could indicate a May/June release (which isn't Spring :P)ĭoes this mean Open Beta is on the horizon? ![]() Ubisoft want to use this new improved client to drive momentum for the game over the next month. They seen S&B as a recurring revenue stream and as a Live Service game (like For Honor etc) Ubisoft aren't expecting / don't need Skull & Bones initial sales to perform well, as they've already written off a good chunk of the development costs. Hopefully, Ubi won't beat us to the punch on that second video :) The second longer video will provide information on what the improved client will contain. The Black Spot will have be releasing two videos on this - the first one covering the amount of content already in the game (it's a lot). Almost all of the investors who asked a question asked something about Skull and Bones with the final question being the one picked up by gaming journalists (and someone who clearly doesn't listen to these that often). There's been a copy/paste set of news articles about the "improved" S&B client mentioned by the CEO during Investor Questions following the Q3 Earnings Calls.
